A “Domain Name” is the name you type into your Web Browser in order to visit that website. For example; the Domain Name of our website is “iedouglas.com”. There are many companies through which you can choose and register a Domain Name but we would recommend sticking with either 1&1 or 123-Reg
Your choice of Domain Name is important as it is your identity you may have for life. The problem is that in order to rank highly in Search Engine results you need a descriptive name containing important keywords, which can make your Domain Name quite long, whereas, in order for it to be “human friendly”, for example for telling friends and family over the phone, it is preferable to have a short Domain Name.
